A Life Remembered
Obituary
Peggy Louise Menard, 86, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Peggy was born on March 21, 1937, in Nederland, Texas to Myrtle Kennedy Green and Morris Green. She graduated from Nederland High School in 1955 and was a retired bus driver for the Nederland Independent School District for over twenty years. Peggy was a devout member of the First Baptist Church in Port Neches where she attended church religiously and was very strong with her readings with her Bible and her LORD and SAVIOR. She loved gardening, antiquing; spending time with her grandchildren and was the “family supervisor” for the garden and making sure her husband Lawrence did a great job tending to her plants. Peggy also did “hooking” with close friends and they would use thin strips of wool to make rugs and other artistic pieces creating something new for the people she loved. She loved watching In Touch Ministries every day, until she no longer could, to stay in touch with her faith.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-eight years, Lawrence Menard, Jr. of Nederland; children, Deborah Menard of Port Arthur, Theron Menard of Pueblo, Colorado, Russell Menard of Harker Heights, Texas and Heather Menard of Nederland; ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Myrtle Green and her siblings.
