Peggy Joyce Sandifer, 85, passed peacefully in the early morning of December 5, 2014. She's now in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Peggy was a hairdresser in the area for 25 years, and after the death of her beloved husband, John, she stepped up and ran the family business, Sandifer's LP Gas, along with her two sons. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Port Neches, the mother of four children, Cynthia Joyce Overland and husband John of Beaumont, Marquis Lee of Hemphill, Richard Carlton and wife Cathy of Port Neches. Her youngest son John Alton passed away in 1992. Peggy was a beloved grandmother of four, John Marquis, Frank Walter, Richard Douglas, and Katherine Joyce. She had one great-granddaughter Hally. She was grandmother to three step-grandchildren, Tracy, Theresia, and Tony. Mother will be greatly missed by many, but we rejoice that her pain is over and she is at peace. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Dr. David Mahfouz officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
