So sorry to hear the sad news about a friend of mine for many years. It all began at Woodrow Wilson Jr. High. We became good friends at T.J. Such a wonderful man. Charlotte "Rothman" Metreyeon

I can remember walking up the steps of Woodrow Wilson Jr. High and noticing this tall red haired guy with a big smile on his face. I thought he was a teacher because he was already shaving. I soon learned that he was not a teacher, he was Mike Doyle. Mike was not only a great friend and companion, but I also had the privilege of being a fellow athlete with him at Woodrow Wilson and Thomas Jefferson. So many great memories. As I walked into our 55 year class reunion across the room I saw this tall red haired man, little less hair, with a big smile on his face. Some things never change. Rest in peace my dear friend. We will miss you. Our love and prayers go out to Diane and the family. Reagan & Claire Jackson

Mike was our brother in law but was more like our brother. We had so many wonderful family holidays at Di and Mike's home with Mike in the kitchen cooking us his favorite foods yum yum. Rick and I will miss his delicious "trash" he made us every Christmas. He made us laugh with his jokes and stories. A great man who was always there for our family who will be missed terribly. We ❤️ you. 🍀 Rick and Juli Libersat

OK, so try to imagine you weigh 135 pounds and you are at football practice playing safety. Suddenly through the line comes this big red headed guy carrying the ball and he probably weighs at least 200 pounds. And, I'm supposed to tackle him? That is not a pretty sight to imagine, but that is how I will always remember Mike Doyle. A tough guy, but a gentle guy at the same time. RIP, Mike. Hope to see you again some day. Lance Goss

Mike was one of our biggest supporters. He always had something nice to say about the Groves Police Department. Every day, like clockwork, you could always find him with his cohorts or strategists (as they liked to be referred to), sitting in the deli at Bruce's or later that morning at McDonald's on Twin City. He once told me that they could solve any problem known to mankind at the "table of knowledge" in just a few minutes. I think he was considered the highest-ranking member at the table because everyone would first give their thoughts and then he would render the final opinion. His kindness, wisdom and sense of humor will be missed. We also can't go without saying that we will miss his homemade (from scratch) banana pudding that he would share from time to time with the officers. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family during this difficult time.

Mike was my Brother In Law, my Brother, my crazy Irish friend! He was Big Brother to our young brother Tommy when he needed one! I will miss everything about him, but most of all our Sunday morning coffees! I would go by on Sunday after Mass and check on he and Di. Usually Di was still sleeping but we'd have coffee and a biscuit whatever he had. We'd talk about the upcoming week and see if they needed me to help with anything! The best husband, son, father, grand father, friend. I will miss him terribly!💚🍀💚 Judy Olivier

Mike was a good friend, husband, father, and grandfather. He was very proud of his son and daughter. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participating in various activities at PNG. I will always treasure our time and conversations we had for many years over our daily cup of coffee. He was a good Christian man and will be missed. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family.

Mike and I worked at Wheatley School together when the school was in Port Acres. I was a head start assistant. He always had stories to tell that would make you laugh. He always talked about his family who he loved with all his heart. Mike loved everyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed working with small children. The children at Wheatley school loved coach Mike as he was called. Mike will be missed by all who worked with him. Prayers go out to his family. Susan Singleton

I know Mike Doyle by working 14 yrs side by side with CC. She called him Big Mike. When I met him I saw a little guy and wondered where "Big" came from? I quickly learned it was not his stature but his heart that made him "Big", it was his deep unconditional love for his family and he shared that with their friends. I'm glad I got to know him. I'm also jealous of the angels who will be now be the beneficiaries of that FUDGE!!!! 🥴😘

Mike worked with me in 1070-72 when I was principal at Wheatley School. He served the 350 kids as a physical education teacher. Mike was a great teacher with the best for kids always in his mind. He had a good sense of humor. I never had to worry about what he was doing as he was always on task providing good activities for kids. I considered to be a great teacher, supporter, and friend. My prayers are directed toward his family. Dr. Jim Weeks
