August 30th, 2023, Phillip Morris Lough, 86 of Tyler, Texas, passed away peacefully at home with his family and beloved wife Abbie Don “Donnie” Lough at his side.
Phillip was born on September 21st, 1936, to Frank and Leah Lough. He grew up in Port Arthur, Texas and graduated from Bishop Byrne High School. He married Donnie Blanchard, and they raised their family in Groves, Texas where he was involved in Boy Scotts of America and Groves Little League. Phillip and Donnie moved to Tyler, Texas after his retirement from Star Enterprise.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Leah Lough; brother Murlin Lough; and stepson Ty Becker Jr.
He is survived by his wife Donnie Lough, daughter Julie Wood and husband Clayton, 3 sons, Clint Lough and wife Susan, Troy Lough, Chad Lough and wife Dayna, 12 grandchildren, Toby Lough, Tiffany Mears, Justin Lough, Jessica Randall, Nevin Lough, Nolan Lough, Troy Lough Jr., MacKenzie Mayer , Kendall Kerns, Quentin Kerns, Logan Kerns and Jacob Becker and 9 great grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland with a "Celebration of Life" Memorial Service to be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9th at the funeral home. Private family cremation services will take place at a later date.
