R. C. Laramore, 93, Port Arthur, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Silsbee Convalescent Center. R. C. was born January 7, 1924 in Bradshaw, Texas to Willie W. Laramore and Myrtle Bernice McKinney Laramore. He was a resident of Port Arthur for 69 years before moving to Buna. R. C. retired as an automotive mechanic and outside marine machinist from Marine & Industrial Machine Works. He was a former member of Aldersgate Trinity United Methodist Church, and life member of the D.A.V. and P.L.A.V. R. C. proudly served his country in U.S. Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Tootie Spell Laramore; second wife of 17 years, Marie Belaire Laramore; son, Wayne Laramore; and brother, Bill Laramore. Survivors include his son, Michael Ray Laramore of Vidor; brothers, Cecil R. Laramore of Campwood and John W. Laramore of Junction; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend John McGuire officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
