Ralph Mark McCord, Sr., 69, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, Texas. Ralph was born December 29, 1941 to Carl Marx McCord and Mattie Adams McCord. He was a lifelong Port Arthur resident and worked in law enforcement and ultimately retired from the U.S. Marshals in Beaumont at the Federal Court House. He was also a U.S. Marine Corp veteran. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Nereana McCord of Port Arthur; two daughters, Renea Soliz and husband, Michael of Mauriceville, Laurie Vaughn and husband, Chuck of Birmingham, AL; one son, Ralph McCord, Jr. and wife, Courtney of Houston; three sisters, Carlie Waite and husband, Pat of Nederland, Donnis Romero and husband, Rodney of Groves, Loretta Lee and husband, Buddy of Port Arthur; one brother, Alton McCord and wife, Carlene of Port Neches; six grandchildren, Ty Soliz, Reese Soliz, Stefan McCord, Caroline McCord, Drew Vaughn, and Ryan Vaughn. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Rick Koonce, pastor of Val Verde Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
