I has been a week ago today that many friends and family members saluted the life of my brother, Randy. He was indeed a very gentle man. When my sons came into our lives, they thought Uncle Randy was their personal Disneyland; he made everything fun! Life was just more happier when Randy was around. Randy loved his family - family was his life. Everyone was Randy's family. Once he came home from school (in about the 3rd grade) to introduce to us his NEW, VERY BEST FRIEND! That's just what he thought of everyone he knew - everyone was his NEW, VERY BEST FRIEND! I grieve with Patti and Breanne in the loss of Randy; he loved them so much. He was so proud of Breanne and loved talking about her accomplishments. He was proud that she will be a future Texas A&M graduate.

I am so very sorry for your loss. The passing of Randy has shocked me. He was a great man and will be missed. This is a harsh reminder not to put off that phone call. I wish I had called him one more time... Much love Randy... Brad & Brandy

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Randy. Randy was one of my favorite people to work with and I am a better man because of my association with him. I know how much his wife and family meant to him as he often talked to me about them. I feel these words of an American poet accurately depict the man who Randy was. Who does his task from day to day, And meets whatever comes his way Believing God has willed it so Has found true greatness here below. Who guards his post no matter where Believing God must need him there, Although but lowly toil it be Has risen to nobility. For great and low there's but one test, 'Tis that each one will do his best. Who works with all the strength he can Shall never die in debt to man. I know Randy has left a legacy that we each can live up to. He will be missed greatly and my prayers go out to the Hardy family. May God bless you all.

After seeing the news regarding Randy this morning I was reminded of him on my way to work. On the radio they began playing, "Hotel California". Years ago, while working for Allstate, Randy, Rick Price, & I had to go to a class in San Antonio. We talked and talked during the drive then ran out of things to talk about so somehow we decided to try to sing all of the words to, "Hotel California" on the way back to Corpus! We sang and laughed for a long stretch of road. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, he was truly a nice guy and has left us to soon.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Growing up with Randy at Calvary Tabernacle in Corpus Christi was special. He was a leader and very dear to all of us. I'm honored to call him my friend.
Anonymous May 9, 2014
Dearest Hardy family, I am so sorry for your tragic loss of Randy. I pray you God's grace and speed in coping with your loss and, please, just know his infectious smile is watching over you as he becomes one of your guardians. The Lord was ready for him. God bless you all. Kathy Tower

Patti and Breanne, My heart goes out to you both. I remember the first time I met Randy when Laurie was in the hospital. He was so easy going and felt like a friend right away. When we attended your wedding it was so obvious how happy you made each other. I know it is hard to comprehend right now but let God guide you and keep you in his loving arms.
Anonymous May 9, 2014
Our dear husband, father and friend Randy indeed left us too soon. Once we get past the feeling of devastation, we celebrate the time we had with Randy. Randy was passionate, honesty and respectful. Randy wanted to take care of everything and everybody. He chastised us when we were wrong; he encouraged us when we were down, but he never left our side. There was nothing that "my brother from another mother" could not fix over a meal and diet coke. Please rest peaceful my friend, well take it from here.

you were such a big part of our family, Randy--- I"ll never forget you. My mother and daddy loved having you in Arkansas several summers-- YOu were a part of us. I wish I could be there. My heart is with your family. We grieve along with you. love, carol Jackson

I am so shocked and saddened to learn of Randy's passing. I worked with him for several years, starting immediately after Hurricane Katrina, which was my first storm. He was so very kind and encouraging, even after he learned that I'm a dyed in the wool Longhorn fan. As fellow Texans, we shared a great pride in our home state, and he sent me an enthusiastic "Welcome HOME!" when the vendor I worked for relocated their offices from Louisiana to North Texas. My deepest condolences to his family, and prayers that God will hold you all in the palm of his hand and bring you comfort.

The loss of a man as special as Randy leaves a significant void in this world. My love and prayers go out to the entire Hardy family. Randy was a unique and special human being. He was funny, witty, kind, talented and yet so unassuming. He was truly one of a kind.

Randy was my best friend. We should have been brothers. We were always there for each other in the good times and the bad. I will miss him dearly.
Anonymous May 8, 2014
My prayers are with your family. Isaiah 61:3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

Patti - My thoughts & prayers are with you and the entire family. Praying that God will put his arms of strength around you during this time. I grew up with "Hardy" and his entire family and enjoyed all of the times we shared (even though he gave me a nickname that will never die with the Hardy family) In the toughest times, just remember ALL the good times that you shared!

On behalf of my family-our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to all of Randy's family members. I have so many great memories of growing up down the street from the Hardy family in Corpus. Patti & Breanne - My deepest sympathies for the two of you. I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. Randy was such a great boss to work for. He was kind, fair, and loyal. I will miss his friendship greatly. There wasn't a single time that I spent with Randy where he didn't swell up with pride talking about his daughter Breanne. He was so proud of her and I know he felt extremely grateful to have the opportunity to be her dad. My thoughts are with the two of you.

Patti & Breanne, Please accept my deepest sympathies in this time of loss. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to have worked so closely with Randy over the last ten years and on the same team the last six. I expect that you will quickly see an outpouring from all of us who had the priviledge to call Randy our friend. Randy had a way to lighten every moment. He also had a certain twinkle in his eye and excitement in his voice when talking about both of you. He was very proud of Breanne and her accomplishments. Randy had been "fixin" for years to make a good Texan out of me and I always enjoyed the y'alls on our conference calls. Mostly I appreciated his open, friendly and loving spirit. I will continue to keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Patti and Breanne- I am so very sorry for your loss. I'm not even sure what to say other than we were all blessed to have known Randy. He was such a kind man. We will continue to pray for comfort, peace, and understanding for you and your family. Love, Susan and Yelena Deloney

Patti & Breanne: So sorry for your loss. I remember one of my first conversations with him and he told me he was fixin to...I wrote him back and asked him if that meant I'm about to. That's right Katy, I'm fixin to. That phrase will remind me of Randy always. I remember my first storm duty with Randy. The work we had to do was serious but Randy always kept us going with his stories, his smile, and his laughter. What happens on storm duty stays on storm duty he would say. I remember him telling me about the two of you coming back into his life and the joy he had found again. His life was complete when you got married and he had a daughter to raise. I am honored to say that Randy was not just a co-worker but that I considered him a friend. He will be missed by many and the entire family is in my thoughts and prayers. Texas didn't make them any better.......

Patti & Breanne - Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of Randy. My prayers go out to you both and also the rest of Randy's family, who he loved so dearly. As you know I worked with Randy, but he was so much more than a co-worker, he was a true friend. He was one of the most compassionate, fiercely loyal, and kind people that I know. He will be missed. Randy was my introduction into what was it was to be a true 'Texan'. Me being from up north, he had his work cut out for him, but he was always up for a challenge. I remember being at your wedding and never seeing him so happy and content. His contagious laugh and sparkling eyes told the whole story. No words can really express how much Randy meant to so many of us, but be assured he will never be forgotten and his legacy of kindness will continue on. Sincerest Condolences,

This news has stunned me, as I'm sure it will others. Having lost my brother Marvin Hardy, just 2 years ago, I know well, how vexing it is to lose your sibling, especially at such a young age. When we were young, Randy and I were great friends. He was funny and kind, a very likable guy. I wish I could have spoken to him one more time. My condolences to his wife and daughter, as well as to Aunt Lois, Shari, David, Trina & Jonathon. Sending Love your way. Susan

Patti and Breanne, I can not begin to tell you how very sorry I am. Randy was such a huge part of my life. I loved him like family. We would share so many things about our families that i feel like I have known you both forever. It breaks my heart in half to even try to understand why this had to happen to such an amazing person. I know he loved you both so much !! Breanne I know he was your step Dad but it was never "obvious". He was so proud of you and had so much love for you at times it was crazy. You where his Cheerleader, Volleyball Player and over all best girl. Patti you for sure hold the part as his one and only. Gosh to beloved by some one as much as he loved you is rare. Its not about being someones 1st love its about being their last. My heart will forever love and miss him. Thank you for sharing him with us.

I was so saddened to hear of the loss of Randy--one of our old "youth" group members gone way too soon. Even though so many years have passed, I still have fond memories of all the good times we had together. Randy was a big part, always kind-hearted. May God give strength to his family in the days ahead.

Randy was my friend, my mentor, my supervisor and my confidant. I learned so much from him and we had many wonderful discussions about the interests we had in common. I have fond memories from the time we drove around the Carolinas and Virginia together looking at damage from hurricane Irene for a week. There were many other travels together as well. Randy was very special to me and I know he was so much more to Patti, Breanne and the rest of his family. He always spoke with so much pride about Breanne's accomplishments. My heart hurts for you and I pray that God will give you strength and comfort in the coming days.

I appreciate the times Randy came along with Aunt Lois on visits to our Farm in Iowa or the Bellevue Nebraska area. Though I had about 58 first cousins, only four were near my age. Each visit was filled with happy memories and games. I loved Randy's "drawl" and how he always said "Ma'am" and "Sir" to our elders.
