Ray Daniels

Ray Daniels, 81, of Groves, Texas passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at The Oaks. Ray was born April 14, 1935 in Port Arthur, Texas to John E. Daniels and Lelda Barnes Daniels. He was a lifelong area resident and retired as an operator after 30 years of service from Firestone. He was preceded in death by his son, James Daniels and sister, Diane Daniels. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Greet Daniels of Groves; three daughters, Rebecca Warren of Nederland, Becky Simmons and her husband Mike of Vidor, Denise Sims and her husband Steve of Vidor; two sons, Ricky Daniels and his wife Carol of Bridge City, Bryan Shorten and his wife Debra of Orange; one sister, Barbara Daniels of Amarillo; sixteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Bob Austin, pastor of New Hope Community Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Restlawn Cemetery in Vidor. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
