Nederland

Raymond Allen Bieljeski, 76, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023, at his residence in Nederland with his loving family at his side.

Ray was born on September 14, 1947, in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Ruby Mae and Edward Walter Bieljeski.  He was a retired electrician/lineman for Gulf Oil Refinery for over thirty-seven years and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland and former member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Port Arthur.  Ray was a Boy Scout with Troop #195 form the age of 9 to 12 and was also an Eagle Scout; he was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5145 in Nederland and he was a lifetime member of the NRA, the TSRA and the Golden Triangle Gun Club.  He was a twenty-three year blood and platelets donor at Lifeshare Blood Center in Beaumont.  Ray loved working in his workshop and was a true craftsman.  He was passionate about feeding all the birds and squirrels that visited his yard daily.  He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved having a house full of laughter and giggles when we were all together.  Ray loved our mom, Pat, with all his heart.  He also loved Disneyworld as much as any child does.  Ray was a teacher of all things to whoever was willing to listen and learn.  He loved sending Birthday cards to everyone, and I mean EVERYONE.  If you were lucky enough to receive one (or dozens), please know that he loved you dearly and celebrated you being a part of his life.  We know our dad is in Heaven smiling and looking down on all of us, with a camera in his hand, documenting all the love we know he feels from his family and friends at this time.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Patricia Marie Norman Bieljeski of Nederland; daughters, Michelle Barnette and her husband Barry of Beaumont and Kristal May and her husband Hoss of Hemphill, Texas; grandchildren, Ashli Brown Stutes and her husband Kyle of Beaumont, Savannah Hughes Paskell and her husband Ari of Orangefield; Marshall Hughes and his wife Kelli of Hemphill, Abi Barnette of Beaumont and Brandon Barnette of Austin; great grandchildren,  Zander Brown-Maldonado, Izzy Stutes, Miller Kate Stutes, Caroline Paskell and Annie Hampton Paskell.

A gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.   Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Entombment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Special thanks to Ray’s Altus Hospice nurse Christy Polido and Ray’s personal aide Casandra Alphough for all their love and support they gave to Ray in his final days.  You made it easier on him and we will always be grateful for what you did for us and especially Ray.  God Bless you both!!
