Raymond C. Baker

Raymond C. Baker, 79, of Port Neches, Texas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Raymond was born January 2, 1940 in Port Arthur, Texas to Oscar Bryant Baker and Sally Dailey Baker. He was a lifelong area resident and member of the United Methodist Temple and a member of the Methodist Men. Raymond retired from Gulf/Chevron as an accounting supervisor after 36 years of service. He was the founder of Samaritan Harvest and was on the Board at the Port Arthur Community Home. Raymond proudly served in the U. S. Marine Corps and Marine Reserves. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sybil Baker of Port Neches, TX; daughter, Susan Baker Wallace of Panama City, FL; son, Ron K. Baker and wife Susan of Groves, TX; grandchildren, Alaina Broussard, Avery Hunt, Phoebe Hall, and Cayden Baker. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the United Methodist Temple followed by the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. with Reverend Phil Chamberlain officiating. I miss my PawPaw everyday. No day is easier than the next but my hope stands with Jesus that by his blood ill see my PawPaw in heaven. Im blessed to have that faith and truth to hold onto.

Our condolences to the family of Raymond Baker. We only knew him at church activities when we visited my sister, Frances Glaze. He seemed a delightfully warm and friendly man.

My condolences to the family of Raymond Baker - I was a secretary at Gulf/Chevron and knew Raymond well. He was a fine person and a gentleman. I retired in 1992.
