Raymond M. Smith, 85, of Groves, Texas passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Raymond was born September 3, 1925 in Erin, Texas to Monroe Smith and Minnie Glenn Smith. He was a resident of Groves for 28 years and member of First Baptist Church of Port Arthur. He retired after 38 years of service from Gulf Oil as a pipefitter. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Maydell King Smith of Groves, TX; three daughters, Debbie McDaniel and husband, George of Jasper, Pam Williams and husband, Jeff of Lumberton, Dr. Odell Wilson and husband, Bob; four grandchildren, Mark, Jeanna, Morgan and Matthew; and four great-grandsons Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Larry Staggs of Bethel Baptist Church of Warren officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Magnolia Springs, TX. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday morning at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Dr. Indupalli and his family physician Dr. Arfeen and the staff of Harbor Hospice.
