Raymond Arthur Wood, 85, of Groves, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. He was born on October 12, 1927 in Deweyville, Texas to Arthur and Theresa Hebert Wood. Raymond was a lifelong resident of this area and worked as a switchman for KCS Railroad for 43 years. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2012 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Wood. He is survived by his daughter, Donna McDuffie and husband, James of Orange, TX., son, David Wood and wife, Becky of Sugarland, TX., two brothers, Charles Wood and wife, Janice of Vidor, TX., and Clarence Wood and wife, Ginger of Lumberton, TX., seven grandchildren, Shane Cousins, Jimmy McDuffie, John McDuffie, Shannon Parks, Wendy Wood, Vicky Heeke, and Christy Elam, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.
