Redell Fontenot

Redell Lasseigne Fontenot, 69, of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Redell was born on July 23, 1953 in Anahuac, Texas to the late Alphonse Adam Lasseigne and Effie Sarah Watson.

Redell was an avid and active Christian woman who dedicated many years of her life to serving and playing important roles at Freedom Christian Fellowship Church in Port Neches and New Hope Church in Nederland. She was employed by McKesson where she worked in medical billing and retired after 16 years of service. Redell revolved her life around her family and was a huge part of her children’s youth baseball careers. She enjoyed cheering them on and supporting the team as the “Team Mom.” Redell had a big heart and a loving spirit. She loved animals and had a special place in her heart for her dog, Coco. Redell was a loving mother and grandmother that is now in heaven with her lord and savior. Redell will be missed by all those who knew her.

Those left behind to cherish Redell’s memory are her loving sons, Dr. Randy Phillips, Jr. and his wife, Mardi, Ronney Phillips and his wife, Jess, Chase Fontenot and his partner, Gina; her grandchildren, Joshua Phillips, Henry Phillips, Allison Phillips, Jonathan Phillips, Lucas Fontenot; and numerous loving family member and friends.

Redell is preceded in death by her mother, Effie Sarah Watson; her father, Alphonse Adam Lasseigne; her stepfather, Bobby Dockens; and her brother, Lonnie Lasseigne.

A gathering of family and friends for a visitation will take place at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Friday March 24, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A committal service will be held in Tranquility Mausoleum at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas on Saturday, March 25, 2023 and will begin at 11:30 a.m.

So many to share so thankful our boys meet first in the nursery at church we always thought our boys were the cutest ones she attended every birthday party she came to his last one he will miss her not being around and so will my whole family.
