Regenia Borel, 81, of Zavalla, Texas passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas. Regenia was born on November 16, 1941 in Columbia, Mississippi to the late Perry Lowe and Esther Johnson Lowe.
Regenia attended Thomas Jefferson High School where she graduated in 1959. She worked for Dr. Chester St. Romain and retired after 20 years of service as a nurse. Regenia revolved her life around her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her family. She genuinely liked taking care of others and was always there to lend a helping hand. She cared so deeply for the people around her and made a positive impact on many lives. Regenia was a dynamite cook, had a great sense of humor with an infectious laugh and enjoyed fishing & crabbing with her family. Being a wife and mother of three, she will be forever missed until we meet again in heaven.
Those left to cherish Regenia’s memory are her loving husband of 63 years, James Riley Borel; her daughters, Terri Borel and Susan Borel; her son, Blake Borel; her granddaughter, Ashley Murray and her husband, Ethan; her granddaughter, Amber Borel; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Regenia is preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Esther Lowe; her brother, Lynn Lowe; and her sister, Molly Lozano.
A gathering of family and friends for a visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A funeral Service will immediately follow the visitation and begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
