Renee Marie Gilbert
August 10, 1960 - October 8, 2023
Ms. Renee Marie Gilbert, 63, of Groves, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, surrounded by love and family.
Growing up the only girl amongst her siblings, Renee tried to keep her three brothers in line. Often times, keeping her mother informed of all the shenanigans they may have been up to. She was a very beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Renee had a positive attitude and you would always catch her with a smile. She enjoyed animals, especially her cockatoo “Teddy,” the color purple, listening to Amy Grant and cozying up with a good blanket and Dr. Pepper. Renee had a quick wit about her and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Renee devoted 20 years of her life to guest services at Luby’s in Jefferson City, where she enjoyed serving guests and creating friendships with her coworkers. She was a bright light and enjoyed her work. Renee was also a devoted member of Bethel Methodist Church in Port Neches. She enjoyed working as a Youth Leader for various church camps and volunteered for other church services. She loved to listen to Christian music and share the love of Jesus Christ. If there ever was an angel on earth, it was Renee.
Renee is preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Robert Gilbert, and brother, Wade Gilbert.
She is survived by her brothers, Mark Gilbert and wife Liz; and Bryan Gilbert. Niece Mallory Roebuck and husband Christopher Roebuck; Nephews, Robert Gilbert and fiancé Loryn; Dawson Gilbert and wife Harlee. Great-nieces Charlie and Millie Roebuck; Ruby Gilbert and great-nephew Phillip Roebuck.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas on Wednesday October 18, 2023 from 4:00-6:00pm
