Reverend Monsignor Kenneth Ray Greig

Reverend Monsignor Kenneth Ray Greig, 80, peacefully entered into Eternal Life Sunday, August 8, 2021.
Msgr. Ken Greig was born in Port Arthur, Texas on December 11, 1940 to John Ellis Greig, Sr. and Claudia Broussard Greig. He grew up in Port Arthur and was the youngest of four children. He attended elementary school at St. Mary's and graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1959. After graduating, he entered St. Mary's Seminary in Houston and began his studies for the priesthood.
He was ordained a priest by Bishop Vincent M. Harris for the newly formed Diocese of Beaumont on May 25, 1967. Throughout his years as a priest he served in several parishes in Port Arthur, Orange, Beaumont and Groves. He retired as pastor of St. Peter's Parish in Groves on July 1, 2014 after serving for 21 years.
Since his retirement he remained active by "filling in" for his brother priest in different parishes throughout the diocese. He also remained active with the ACTS community at St. Peter's Parish and was a member of Knights of Columbus #3491.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary service to begin at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with Bishop David L. Toups officiating and assisted by Reverend J.C. Coon.
Burial will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, August 12, 2021 in Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Claudia Greig; brother, Ronald Greig; nephews, Kemp Greig and Michael John Greig and niece, Julie Greig.
He is survived by his sister, Sister Julie Greig, O.P. of Houston, Texas, brother, John E. Greig, Jr. and wife Tish of Nederland, Texas, nieces and nephews, Rick Greig and wife, Terri, Ronda Zowarka and husband Greg, Jason Greig and wife Carolyn, Janel Greig and Cathy, and Kendra Greig, three great nieces, one great nephew and three great great nephews.
