Rhonda Sue McCoy, beloved mother and grandmother, 59, of Iota, Louisiana joined her beloved husband, Kurt McCoy on Monday, April 25, 2022. Rhonda was born in Groves, Texas on September 21, 1962, to the late Thomas Richard McCowan and Wanda Jean (Bodin) McCowan.
Rhonda attended Lamar University and was a member of Maxie Gospel Tabernacle. She retired after many years of service as a Certified Dietary Manager for the Southeast Texas Region. Her true passion in life was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her family.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kurt Jeffery McCoy.
Those left to cherish Rhonda’s memory are her daughter, Delores Smith and her husband, Jamie of Port Neches, TX; grandchildren, Jacelyn Smith, Janie Smith and Katie Smith; three great grandchildren; sisters, Perri Stewart of Kountze, TX and Tammy McCowan of Nederland, TX; nephews, Jason McCowan of Kountze, TX, Asa Cardenas of Nederland, TX, and Bob Riley and his wife, Caylin of Nederland; and Kenny Jr. of Carthage, MS; niece, Racheal Brown of Kountze, TX; and a host of great nieces and great nephews and extended family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Rhonda’s Life to begin at 3:00 p.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas.
