Richard Paul Bonfield, a cherished individual known for his dedication to family, work, and the simple joys of life, passed away on July 3, 2024, in Webster, Texas. Born on February 11, 1966, in Palo Alto, California, Richard's journey was marked by a deep love for baking, history, and family.
Richard's love for baking led him to meet the love of his life, Cissie, at a bakery in Dallas where they both worked. He dreamed of owning his own bakery one day, and he poured his heart into all the delicious pastries and breads he created. Beyond the world of baking, Richard held a profound fascination for history and storytelling. His intellect shone through as he shared facts and stories of the past with those around him.
Described as hardworking, proud, and stubborn, Richard was a great provider for his family. His diverse interests included hunting, fishing, boating, guns, video games, and enjoying quality time with his loved ones. An early riser who enjoyed beach sunrises and a football enthusiast from his playing days to watching games on TV. Richard found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
One of Richard's many accomplishments was earning the admiration of his stores he serviced over three decades with his warm smile and welcoming nature. His spirit of generosity extended beyond work; he relished grilling outdoors, smoking meats, and making s'mores with his three kids while enjoying a cold Budweiser.
In the hearts of those who knew him best, Richard will forever hold a special place. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cissie R. Bonfield; loving mother, Margareta Duscher Bonfield; fathers-in-law, James Tillman and Thomas Cassidy; sons, Thomas Aloysius Bonfield and Travis James Bonfield; daughter, Cassidy Adele Bonfield; siblings, Edith Frank and spouse David; Tom Bonfield and spouse Kim; Charles Bonfield and spouse Virginia; Michael Bonfield and spouse Donna; in-laws, TJ Rockenschuh and spouse Ricky; Jeremy Tillman and spouse Dorie , Andy Cassidy and spouse Jenny; nieces, nephews, and an extensive circle of family members.
