Richard H. Hoffpauir, Sr., 80, of Nederland, Texas passed away Friday, February10, 2017 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas. Richard was born June 28, 1936 in Indian Bayou, Louisiana to James Hoffpauir and Faydre Morgan Hoffpauir. He was a resident of this area for 55 years and was a retired Marine Electrician with the US Naval Reserve Fleet. He was a member of the American Legion Post 493, the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 3743, and was a US Army Veteran. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Indian Bayou Cemetery in Indian Bayou, Louisiana. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at the funeral home. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Elnora Hoffpauir and son, Richard H. Hoffpauir, Jr. Surviving relatives include his son, Timothy Hoffpauir and his wife Melba of Vidor, Texas; sisters, Almeda LeDoux of Indian Bayou, Louisiana; Margie Walsh of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Nell Savoy and her husband John of Indian Bayou, Louisiana; brothers, Huey Hoffpauir of Houma, Louisiana, Sheldon Hoffpauir and his wife Sylvia of Indian Bayou, Louisiana, Weldon Hoffpauir and his wife Dean of Lake Charles, Louisiana; E.C. Hoffpauir and his wife Falice of Indian Bayou, Louisiana; grandchildren, Trey Hoffpauir and his wife Sharmaine, Macon Hoffpauir, Stephen Hoffpauir, Monique Hoffpauir, and Hannah Hoffpauir; and 6 great-grandchildren.

To all of the immediate family I am sorry for y'all's loss! Uncle Richard will be missed dearly! He always cooked some of the best crawfish I have ever had! Anytime I was around Uncle Richard I had to be near him, I used to follow him around like a puppy!LOL see you again one day Uncle Richard love Blake!
