Richard Wayne Hughes
Richard, 89, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Officiating will be Pastor Janell Hanks. A burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, in Port Neches.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 2: 00 p.m.at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.
Richard was born in Kilgore, Texas, on March 18, 1934, to John Henry Hughes and Rebecca Jackson-Hughes. He was the proud owner of Hughes Barber & Beauty Supply in Port Neches. He sure loved traveling and his favorite place to visit was Big Bend National Park.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Dama Hughes; eight sisters and seven brothers.
He is survived by his three daughters, Tina Hughes of Yukon, OK; Cindy Cunningham of Oklahoma City, OK; and Donna Carter and husband Ray of Port Arthur, TX; one son, Paul Hughes and wife Lynette of Bethany, OK; seven grandchildren, Amy Page, Ryan Leeper, Tiffany Johnson, Wayne Hughes, Steven Hughes, Susan Burnham, and Johnathon Hughes; thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
