Richard F. McKee

1956 ∼ 2026

Richard F. McKee, a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 70 in his birthplace of Port Arthur, Texas. Richard was born on February 6, 1956, to Freemon and Lois McKee.

Richard had a vibrant personality that shone brightly throughout his life. He was a good cook, often sharing his culinary talents with family and friends, and he took extraordinary joy in making others smile. Known as a funny prankster, he loved to have fun and always found a way to spread happiness wherever he went. He welcomed all into his life with open arms and a generous spirit, a testament to the kind of man he was.

Richard's career in sales allowed him to connect with people from all walks of life, and he cherished those relationships deeply. His immediate family remembers him not only for his professional achievements but for the unwavering love he showed them. His daughters, Tina Boneaux, Kimberly Martinez, Brittani McKee, Ricki McCormack and her husband, Mack, carry forward his legacy with fond memories. Grandchildren Laykin, Skylee, Kaydence, Corbin, Cortlyn, Cooper, Cohen, Crue, Kegan, Kyle, Rusty, Daniel, Alexis, and Malori were cherished by him beyond measure, and he took great pride in creating moments with them, always keeping snacks and sodas ready to share in their delight.

Richard is also survived by his sister, Lisa Patton, and his brother, David McKee, both of whom deeply mourn his loss. They were by his side through life's joys and challenges, creating lasting memories together.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol McKee, and his father, Freemon McKee whose memories remains etched in the hearts of all who knew them.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, so that family and friends can gather to honor the life of Richard F. McKee, celebrating his legacy of laughter, generosity, and love from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.

He will be dearly missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.

I am so sorry for y'all's loss. I was Ricky's roommate when I moved to Austin in 1980. David was my best friend in high school. Although it has been years since I have seen them, I think of them often. Please know that I will be praying for all of Ricky's loved ones. This family meant a lot to me as I was growing up. I love y'all!
