Richard James Mullens of Port Arthur passed away Friday, July 9, 2010 at his home. He was born on April 21, 1954 to W.J. "Slim" Mullens and Evelyn Mire Mullens. He was a lifelong resident of this area and retired as a valve mechanic from E.P.I. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Chaplain Wayne McEwen of Odyssey Hospice officiating. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:00 noon until the service time. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; daughter; Dalyana Mullens and sister; Shaun Capovilla. He is survived by his wife; Chrissy Mullens of Port Arthur, daughter; Rachel Thomas and husband, Mark of Maryland, step-children; Kevin Trahan and wife, Rachelle of Austin, and Kelli Redman of Groves, sister; Linda McMillian of Las Vegas, three grandchildren; Daun Thomas, Ryleigh Redman and Jaxson Redman, and his pets; "Scooter", "Boogers" and " Lucky."
