We all know that we will die one day, but when that day comes for our loved ones we are in a deep state of grief, pain, and denial. Sending my condolences & prayers for all of you during this most difficult time. Jeremiah 29:11-15 Rick was such a funny & handsome guy. Being from the same neighborhood, I remember him well. Life is a journey we all go through, but thank goodness for those precious moments shared together that will never die because they are carefully tucked inside our hearts forever.

Joyce, Marilyn & I send our deepest regards. As you know Ricky and I were always close. The years separated us, but we were joined at the hip for life. I love Ricky. His smiling face and corny laugh has me grinning right now. I know without he loved you, his children and grandchildren immensely. That is Ricky Short. He never met a stranger and he absolutely embraced life with a fervor few of us will ever know. I told Virgil on Tuesday how odd it is that you can instantly miss someone so deeply even though you haven't seen them in 10 years. Please give Ray my condolences. Ricky and Ray. Cannot mention one without the other. I always loved the look on Ray's face when Ricky would start on one of his stories. I also appreciated how good they were to my parents. My dad loved the Short boys.

I wish to express my deepest condolences to the Short family. Although it's been many years ago I remember Ricky as a man full of energy and a hard worker at the family business; always with a friendly smile. I have fond memories of my youth visiting Ricky and Ebbie SR. at the shop on Nederland Ave. with my old friend Ray JR. Ricky will surely be missed by me, my brother Joe who went to school with him and everyone that had the pleasure of meeting him.
