Mr. Davis has been a gift from God to the Beaumont community for many years. As a deacon of First Baptist Bevil Oaks, he was a generous man who was willing to help fellow friends at church.

Ricky was a great neighbor and wonderful friend. Just talking to he and John Johnson was better than any TV comedy you could think of. He was a good Christian man and loved his family. Now, ask him a question and don’t expect a straight answer. He could fix anything, cook any thing, and spin the biggest yarns! If you needed help, he was always there! Our loss is heavens gain! My love goes out to Linda and family! May God Bless and comfort you! Hoyt Simmons

I have many great memories of Ricky. Ricky and Linda were great friends and neighbors. We enjoyed backyard barbecues and many other good times together as friends. Ricky was a part of our wedding party when Jimmy and I got married. He was an awesome person.

Linda, Misty and Christy There are no words that will express to you how much I loved Ricky and how much I love y’all. I have so many memories, great memories. I guess the memories begin on our wedding day, to raising kids together, Coon hunts, vacations to Schlitterbahn, having Christmas Eve at your house, and last but not least Citgo events. We have seen our share of rough times too. Floods and storms. But this flood is worse than water. My heart is broken. I still can’t believe he is gone. I know this, he was a good man and he will be missed on this earth. RIP Ricky we will miss you.

My best memories of Ricky is him and John Johnson smoking chickens, ribs, burgers and sausage for every men’s walk to Emmaus that I’ve ever worked. He was dedicated to working the Men’s Walks and always worked in the kitchen which he was so talented in making the meals delicious. He had a spirit about him that illuminated Christ and was always a blessing to be around him. RIP my old friend you will surely be missed.

Linda, Christy, Misty, and family, We are so very sorry for the loss of Ricky, a dear husband and loving father. We are blessed to have called him our friend!! After Harvey, Rick and John would ride around Bevil Oaks in the cart a lot and stop by our house and chat with us from time to time. Conversations with these two often led to good belly laughs! God truly blessed you all with an awesome godly man to call your husband/father! He’s definitely gone from this earth too soon, but we know he’s watching over you all from above! Prayers for God to comfort you all give you peace in your memories of him. Caren & Rob LeMaster

Growing up there were two men that I thought we’re bigger than life that could do anything. One was my Dad and the other was Ricky and most of the time they were together. I have so many memories. Like the time Ricky convinced me I had night vision goggles on. Or the times we would go squirrel hunting with the dachshunds and that ol’ blue tick hound. The dachshunds were much better hunting dogs than that blue tick. One of my favorites is going over and playing with a stray dog and Ricky deciding that the dog needed to come live with me despite what Mom and Dad said. So he dropped the dog in the back of Dads truck with a honeybun and called later to tell me it was there and that there were no take backs. I could go on and on.

I can’t remember a time that I didn’t know Ricky. As stated by Kent we spent many nights camping in the woods and hunting before Bevil Oaks even existed. Time and distance kept us from seeing each other in years but I always consider him a true friend. Ricky I know you’ve heard the words A Job Well Done My Son.

My dad was so upbeat and funny. While in the hospital, when they decided to try remdesivir for treatment, they needed him to sign a consent since using it for covid was experimental. They were discussing all the possible side effects and adverse reactions, and he asked, with perfect timing, “Will it make me better looking?” He was always using humor to make bad situations better, and I loved that about him. Every time I hurt myself or feel bad, I will always hear his voice say “Awwwww, I’ve had worse on my eyeball!” Just something he always said. Always makes me smile.

Ricky was a great man and a great cook. He and his sidekick, Johnny, always cooked for the church's mission banquets . He was in charge of the fireworks for the annual July 4th celebration in Bevil Oaks. He was always willing to help out. I will truly miss him.
