Rita Boudreaux Owings

Rita Boudreaux Owings, 92½, of Groves, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at her residence. Rita was born in Baytown, Texas to the late, Clarence C. Porter and Maria Dorothy Blanchard Porter.

Those left to cherish Rita’s memory include her children, Joe Boudreaux and his wife, Margene, Dottie Mouton and her husband, George, Tommy Boudreaux and his wife, Pat, Gary Boudreaux, Debbie Mendez and her husband, John and Shannon Hemby and her husband, Danny; her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Boudreaux; 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence C. Porter and Maria Dorothy Blanchard Porter; sister, Louise Roberts; brother Buddy Porter; infant son, Ricky Boudreaux; son, Mike Boudreaux; her first husband, Ray J. Boudreaux, Sr.; her second husband, Tommy Owings and her grandson, Brice Boudreaux.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Tuesday evening, July 26, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception / St. Peter Catholic Church in Groves, Texas on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. with Father J.C. Coon, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
