Robert Paul Bergeron, 61, of Groves, Texas passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2023, at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill, Texas.
Robert was born on September 14, 1961, in Port Arthur, Texas to Lillian Marie Harrington Bergeron and Frances Dexter Bergeron, Sr. Robert graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Port Acres in 1980 and was a retired lab tech for Arlanxeo Performance Elastomers for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and participated in many activities where he loved to cook and hang out with his fellow members. Robert loved to hunt, fish and go camping; enjoyed hanging out on his porch with his family and friends; was a big fan of L.S.U. sports especially football. He loved his dog Bluey which was a constant companion of his wherever he went. Mainly, Robert loved his family, especially his grandchildren, Weslyn and Rylan. He loved taking them riding in his golf cart and just being around them and doing things with them and the rest of his family.
Survivors include his children, Michael Brent Bergeron of Austin; Brie Anne Bergeron and her partner Kara Gulvas of Washington, D.C., Krista Marie Pastorella and her husband R.J. of Groves, Texas; siblings, Pat David and her husband Clyde of Port Acres, Theresa Martin and her husband Stephen of Orange, John Bergeron of Port Acres and Eric Bergeron and his wife Bonnie of Westlake, Louisiana; grandchildren, Weslyn Marie Pastorella and Rylan Joseph Pastorella both of Groves; numerous nieces and nephews; other family and friends who loved him dearly.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Lillian Bergeron, Sr. and his brother, Frances Dexter Bergeron, Jr.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. A Memorial Service to will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at Melancon Funeral Home.
A “Celebration of Life” to Honor the memory of Robert Paul Bergeron will be held after the services from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Groves Knights of Columbus Hall located at 3749 Lincoln, Groves, TX 77619.
