Bob was born in Franklin, Louisiana on November 13, 1924 to the late Robert Huelon and Annabelle Creel Simmons. He worked for the U. S. Postal Service. Bob served his country proudly in the U. S. Navy during WWII.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland on Saturday, September 17, 2011, Rev. John Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16th at the funeral home.Bob is preceded in death by his parents wife, Velma Simmons son, Glenn quotBoequot Norton brother, Luther Simmons and grandson, Stevie Gainer.
