Robert Joseph Broussard, 85, of Groves, Texas died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas. Robert was born September 7, 1924 in Lafayette, Louisiana to Felix Broussard and Carlotta Prejean Broussard. He was a resident of Groves for 65 years and retired mechanic from Gulf Oil. He was a member of the Catholic Faith and OCAW. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas with Pastor Fred Vernon officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at the funeral home. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Broussard; son-in-law, Earl Broadus and grandson, Earl Broadus, Jr. Survivors include his six daughters, Ella Broadus of Groves, Gloria Broussard of Groves, Donna Rider of Groves, Brenda Blanton and husband, Mark of Sour Lake, Susie DuBois and husband, Ken of Port Neches, Bonnie Maxwell and husband, Mark of Nederland; four sons, Ronnie Broussard and wife, Kris of Nederland, Ray Broussard and wife, Cathy of Pasadena, Ricky Broussard and wife, Karen of Sulphur, LA, Rodney Broussard and wife, Linda of Nederland;three sisters, Yola Mae Hebert and husband, George of Groves, Barbara Dawson and husband, Bill of Nevada and Helen Smith and husband, Jerry of Hawaii; brother, Nelson Broussard and wife, JoAnn of Lufkin; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
