Robert "Bob" Crochet, 99, of Austin, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020. Bob was born April 7, 1920 in Loreauville, Louisiana to Aldebert Crochet and Amelia Broussard Crochet. He was a longtime Port Arthur resident and retired butcher, having worked at Howards Grocery and Howdy Doody Grocery. Bob proudly served in the U. S. Army during World War II, receiving the Silver Star Medal and Purple Heart Medal. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers. Survivors include his wife, Grace Crochet of Austin, TX; daughter, Tracy Parks and husband Larry of Austin, TX; sons, Larry Crochet and wife Linda of McCormick, SC, Ricky Crochet and wife Cathy of Gainesville, VA, and Randy Crochet and wife Melba of Spring, TX; twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 3, 2020 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas followed by the funeral service at 12 noon. Military graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

You could look the world over and not find a better Family than "The Crochets". And a nicer & finer man, husband & father than Mr. Crochet. He touched a lot of people and will be Greatly missed but his legacy will live on.' My condolences and prayers for comfort goes to the entire Family.
