Robert “Bob” Fore, 79, of Nederland, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022 at St. Luke’s Baylor Hospital in Houston.
Bob was born May 20, 1943 in Orange, Texas to the late Bennie and Catherine Fore. Bob graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Orange in 1961. From there he attended Wharton Junior College from 1961 to 1962 and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served our country from1962 until his discharge in 1966. He attended Nichols State College from 1968 to 1969 and then met the love of his life in 1969, Mavis Murray and then they were married June 6, 1970. He was a retired business owner for many years and was very active at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus serving in many capacities. Bob was the longest serving Grand Knight of Port Neches Council #2461.
Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Mavis Murray Fore; his son, Steven M. Fore and his wife Courtney of Port Neches; his daughter, Robin Fore-Williams and her husband Lee of Groves; his grandchildren, Paige Clevenger of Groves, Colby Fore and his wife Elizabeth of Port Neches, Makenna Fore of Port Neches, Cayden Barclay of Groves, and Landon Williams of Groves; five brothers, Jim Fore and his wife Vicki, John Fore and his wife Paula, Victor Fore and his wife Kathleen, Bennie Fore and his wife Marianne, Kevin Fore and his wife Angie; five sisters, Barbara Maley and her husband Phillip, Melanie Crane and her husband Rob, Cathy Manshack and her husband Mike, Emily Wilson and her husband Roger, Lisa Guyote and her husband Stacey.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie F. Fore, Jr. and Catherine A. Ulm Fore.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday evening December 29, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with a Knights of Columbus Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. at the church. On Friday December 30, 2022 a Divine Mercy Chaplet will be held at 1:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be conducted at 2:00 p.m. followed by internment at Oak Bluff Memorial Park under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Jim Fore, John Fore, Ben Fore, Vic Fore, Kevin Fore and Bob's son and his best friend, Steven Fore.
