Robert Anthony Gonzalez

Robert “Bobby” Gonzalez, age 60, of Groves, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at his residence in Groves. Bobby will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. This gathering will serve as an opportunity for family and friends to come together to honor Bobby's life and share cherished memories.

Bobby was born on December 7, 1963, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Joe Gonzalez Jr. and Alice Gonzalez. Throughout his life, Bobby had a wide range of interests and passions that brought him joy. One of Bobby's greatest passions was baseball, particularly his beloved Astros. He remained a diehard fan through both victories and defeats, never losing faith in his team. Another passion of his was collecting anything related to the Space Shuttles, showcasing his fascination with space exploration. Bobby also found great joy in building Legos, allowing him to unleash his creativity and create marvelous structures. His best friend Lane shared Bobby's love for cars and car shows, which they enjoyed together. Additionally, Bobby looked forward to his annual fishing trip with dear friend Ernie Knod. Above all else, Bobby treasured his family and friends with every fiber of his being. His unconditional love and unwavering support will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him.

He is survived by his brother, Mark Gonzalez of Maumelle, AR; sisters, Lisa Davis and husband Gary of Port Neches, TX;  Laurie Dawsey and husband (Leain) of Elton, LA. Bobby also leaves behind nephews Danny Gonzalez and wife Tara and Jared Gonzalez, as well his niece Ashley McAllister and husband Calvin; great-nieces: Gabby, Cate, Vivi, and great-nephew, Austin. They will remember him with love and carry his memory in their hearts.
