Robert Lynn Heaslet, 66, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at his residence in Nederland with his loving family at his side.  

Robert was born on September 18, 1957, in Port Arthur, Texas to Dorothy Marie Peterson Heaslet and James William Heaslet, Sr. He was a retired maintenance supervisor for the City of Port Arthur Transit for twenty-nine years and was a United States Army Veteran. Robert was also a member of Faith Baptist Temple in Nederland.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Heaslet of Nederland; sons, Robert Reynolds of Port Acres and Richard Heaslet of Beaumont; sister, Diane Heaslet of Port Arthur; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Heaslet; his brother, James W. Heaslet, Jr. and his sister, Johnnie Marie Pickering.

A gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2024, at Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Humble officiating.  Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas. 

Serving as Pallbearers will be Austin Klutts, Preston Heller, Kenneth Klutts, Nathaniel Summerlin, Bill Wells and Richard Heaslet. Serving as an Honorary Pallbearer will be Robert Reynolds and Evan Klutts.  

The family would like to thank the people of Harbor Hospice for their loving care and support of our loved one, Robert Lynn Heaslet.  We can’t thank you enough for what you did for us and especially Robert.  Thank You!!!  We also want to thank his great niece and great nephew, Miranda and Nathaniel; for also taking care of Robert in their own special way.  God Bless the both of you.
