Robert Nathaniel Kindell, 78, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away September 26, 2011 at St. Lukes Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born September 16, 1933 in Checotah, Oklahoma to the late O B and Anna Bell Doss Kindell, and lived in the Nederland and Port Arthur area since 1969. He retired from Port Arthur I.S.D. as a Chemistry teacher, assistant principal, and principal at both Thomas Jefferson and Lincoln High Schools. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland for over 40 years.Funeral services will be held at the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Patrick Hunter and Rev. Elvin Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the ion of Melancon39s Funeral Home in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Robert Nathaniel quotRobbiequot Kindell, II, his sister, Maria Bell Duncan, and brother, Preston Kindell.
