Robert Rowell Palmer, Sr., 97, of The Woodlands and formerly of Groves passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital. Robert was born October 12, 1914 in Hacoda, Alabama to William Thomas Palmer and Viola Lowery Palmer. He was a longtime area resident and retired after 44 years of service as a night foreman from Texaco. He was a member of Abundant Life Sanctuary, Groves Masonic Lodge #1315, and VFW Post #797. He was also a U.S. Air Force pilot during World War II. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Jeri Stegall and Dorinda Morris; and granddaughter, Alicia Palmer. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Palmer of The Woodlands; daughter, Jerisue Thomson and husband, Tommy of The Woodlands; son, Robert Rowell Palmer, Jr. and wife, Kitty of Kingwood; sister, Ruthe Palmer of Groves; brother, James Palmer and wife, Karen of Dallas; grandson, Robert Rowell Palmer, III and wife, Lauren of Tomball; great-grandchildren, Olivia Palmer, Rachel Henry and Julie Henry. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 12 noon Wednesday until service time at the funeral home.
