Robert Carl Rice

Robert "Bobby" Rice, 82, of Groves, Texas passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014. Bobby was born February 26, 1932 in Franklin, Pennsylvania to Richard H. Rice and Lillian Andrews Rice. Bobby graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He played football for Lamar, before joining the Army and fighting in the Korean Conflict. He was a resident of Groves for 55 years and retired from Texaco Refinery after 38 years of service as a pipefitter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Rice. Survivors include his son, Richard Rice and wife, Belinda of Nederland, TX; two grandchildren, Jordan Rice and Alyssa Rice. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Mark Hughes officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
