Robert “Bobby” Rush Sr. 65, of Nederland sailed his last ship from his favorite port city of Galveston on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Bobby was born in Upper Darby Pennsylvania on December 22, 1957 to William Rush and Juanita Jensenius Rush. Bobby worked for ARCO as a Merchant Marine for 25 years, and currently RSG Restoration.
Bobby personified the phrase “he’d give the shirt off his back to a stranger” and was a man of sincere Christian faith, he lived that faith with every word and action of his life. The most important people in his life were his family and his dogs, and any extra time he had in his days were spent helping them with any task, no matter how big or small. He had a renowned green thumb, which he inherited from his precious mother – Bobby could merely look at a fading plant and bring in back to life. He believed that love could save anything and anyone, from a simple rose bush to a person in need.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Jane Carbaugh-Hargett; his mother, Nita Jensenius; his children, Robert Rush Jr, Chelsea Rush and Megan Ryan; Taylor Rush and Melanie, and Layla Guy and Bradley; His sisters, Christy Edlin, Donna Jensenius, Alisa Jensenius; his brother, Anthony Demonte.
