Robert Nelson Taylor, 73, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away August 19, 2014 at his residence. He was born September 22, 1940 in Port Arthur, TX to Robert Presley Taylor and Rosie May Bagget. He was a retired welder, having worked in marine construction.

Survivors include, wife, Elaine Taylor of Port Arthur; daughters, Marie Avery and husband, Jeffery of Troy, MO; Tomiko Cope and husband, Larry of Baytown, TX; Imia Gralino and husband, James of Nederland, TX. Son, Charles Taylor and wife, Lena of Nederland, TX. Sisters, Ruth Largent of Centerville, TX; Johnnie Mae Bodin of Beaumont, TX, Carrienell Guthrie of Livingston, TX, Loyce Weeks of Dam-B, TX, Joyce Free of Deridder, LA, Edith Kenney of Dam-B, TX. Brothers, James A. Taylor of Kirbyville, TX and Roy Taylor of Kirbyville, TX. Grandchildren, Amanda Copeland; James Watkins; Quentin Taylor; Michael Copeland; Kassondra Egly; Carolyn Watkins; Brandon Taylor; Matthew Avery; Emily Avery. Great-granchildren, Natalie Jade Taylor; Kaylee Rayne Taylor; Zooey Lynn Taylor and Lillirose Marie Egly.

And I remember the two men in suits with brief cases that came to his house in Port Acres that came to take it away from him. I remember when he put that engine in an old pick-up truck and he even hooked it up to his house until GSU told him he could not do that. One jump from a regular car battery and that was it...it ran on its own without fuel and created its own energy! It wasn't just the auto makers that were after him over that engine...it was the Department of Energy and Big Oil! That was around 1974 -75.

I can remember when he had all the major automobile manufacturers running scared over the engine he built in the shop behind his house. Closest thing to perpetual motion that anyone could come up with. Yes.....it did run and was operational.
