Robert "Jim" Wilson, IV, peacefully passed away on January 18, 2024, at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. Born on November 24, 1946, in Port Arthur, Texas, Jim was the beloved son of Anna Lucile (Wear) Wilson and Robert James Wilson, III.
Jim's love for his country led him to proudly serve in the United States Navy. With deep patriotism and reverence, he dedicated himself to upholding the values and principles that make America great.
Jim's education was also an essential aspect of his life. He earned an Associate's degree in Instrumentation, which equipped him with the knowledge and skills necessary for his successful career. Alongside his professional pursuits, Jim actively participated in Immaculate Conception/St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church as a devoted parishioner. He found joy in his involvement with the church choir and possessed a beautiful singing voice that enriched every Mass.
In his professional career as an instrument and electrical technician, Jim demonstrated unwavering commitment and dedication to his work at the Calabrian Chemical Corporation. He approached every task with meticulous attention to detail and a strong work ethic that earned him the admiration and respect of his colleagues. After many years of service, Jim retired with a sense of pride and fulfillment.
Beyond his professional and religious affiliations, Jim had various interests that brought him happiness throughout his life. He had a passion for flying his drone, captivated by the beauty and perspective it provided from above. Additionally, he enjoyed creating fond memories during Disney vacations with his loved ones and cherished spending time on the golf course with his brother.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert James Wilson, III and Anna Lucile Wilson; and his beloved wife of 40 years, Virginia "Ginger" Wilson.
Jim's passing leaves a void in the lives of those who loved him dearly. Jim's memory will be carried by his daughters, Gina Wilson and her partner, Michelle of Port Neches, Texas, and Lisa Wilson of Port Neches, Texas. His grandchildren Katherine Jacobs, Benjamin Jacobs, and Christopher also capture the essence of his love and legacy.
In addition to his immediate family, Jim is survived by his caring sister, Shirley Caldwell and her husband Tom of Sherman, Texas, as well as his brother, John Wilson and his wife Janie of Winnie, Texas. Jim also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim touched the hearts of everyone he met throughout his life's journey. His genuine kindness, warm smile, and incredible zest for life made him an unforgettable presence. He leaves behind a legacy built on unwavering love for family, exceptional work ethic, and dedication to serving others.
As we mourn the loss of Robert "Jim" Wilson IV in these trying times, let us also celebrate the wonderful life he lived. May fond memories comfort all who had the privilege of knowing him as we gather together to honor his life and bid farewell to this remarkable individual whose impact will forever be engraved in our hearts.
