Mildred Roberta Wills was born October 30, 1930 in Bay Minette, Alabama. She lived there only a short time and then moved to Port Neches, Texas. She started school and went until 10th grade. Then she traveled for 2 years and came back to Nederland, Texas. There she met Dennis Wills and was married when she was 17 years old. They were married for 68 years and had 3 children. John, Cynthia, and Daniel Wills were raised in Port Neches. Roberta passed away May 28, 2021 at her daughter’s home with her family by her side.
Those left to cherish Roberta’s memory are her children, John and his wife, Jill of Port Neches, Cynthia and her husband, Michael Huff of Groves, and Daniel of Port Neches; her grandchildren, John’s children, Wendy Wills McElroy and her husband, Lynn of Lumberton with their daughter Emma, Sara Wills of Houston, and Jacob Wills and his husband, Bryan of Beaumont, his step-children, James Murphy and his wife, Brooke of Port Neches and their children, Grady and Tucker Murphy, Kevin and his wife, Jennifer of Hamshire and their children Lace and Hana Murphy, Sarah Bennett and her husband, Jason of Nederland, Cynthia’s children, Michael and his wife, Tammy of Nederland with their children, Nathan, Kaden, Hannah Huff and step-children, Matthew and Kaylee Benavidez, Jared Huff and his wife, Candi of Bridge City and their children, Paisley and Kinsley Huff, and Daniel’s children, Danielle Wills Linscomb of Nederland and her children, Rustin and Kaelynne Linscomb, and Dustin Wills of South Carolina and his son, Joel Wills; her sister, Dorothy Strobl of Fenton, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Everett Dennis Wills; her parents; and a sister.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Melancon’s Funeral Home with Rev Phil Chamberlin officiant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
