Rodney Arnold

1958 ∼ 2025

Rodney Arnold, 66, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on January 4, 2025. Born on July 21, 1958, in Port Arthur, Texas, Rodney lived a life characterized by a strong will, diligence, and a notable sense of humor.

After graduating from Nederland High School in 1977, Rodney embarked on a commendable career, dedicating 12 years of service to the State of Texas as a regional supply manager. His contributions in this role, along with his previous work at Mouton's Transfer, did not go unnoticed; he was recognized at both worksites for his strong work ethics and unwavering dedication.

Rodney was a committed member of Bridge Point Fellowship Church in Bridge City, where he faithfully attended for ten years and served as the door greeter. His devotion to his faith was evident in his regular practice of reading the Bible and his willingness to help anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by his church family.

Rodney possessed a diverse range of interests, particularly in mechanical pursuits. He enjoyed tinkering with gadgets, always eager to take things apart to understand their operation. His mechanically inclined nature exemplified his curious and hands-on approach to life.

He is survived by his brothers, Byron Arnold and his wife, Sheila of Port Neches, and Marty Arnold and his wife, Marcella of Nederland. Rodney was also cherished by his best friend and cousin, Debra Daley, alongside a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ann LaGrappe and Henry Lee Arnold, and his stepmother, Willie Mae Arnold.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland located at 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas, 77627. Rodney Arnold's legacy of kindness and dedication to those around him will be deeply missed.

Cremation services are under the direction of Melancon Levingston Funeral Home.

I sure wish I could have known Rodney earlier in life. He was very kind to me and my wife. I enjoyed him in our “old guys” small group at church. If you wanted to see him at 9:00 on Saturday morning, you could find him at church for Saturday Morning Prayer! RIP my friend and thanks again for the bandaids!!!

I am going to miss my sweet cousin and friend Rodney. He was always willing to go with me out to eat, especially mudbugs. We definitely enjoyed each other's company and had the best conversations on every subject. Fly high sweet man and continue to serve the King. Much loved.
