Rodney J. Broussard, born on February 11, 1964, in Port Arthur, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, in Houston, Texas. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, who leaves a legacy of love and kindness that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Rodney was the devoted spouse of Linda Bakker Broussard, with whom he shared many joyful years in Nederland. Together, they nurtured a loving family that included their daughters, Heather Golden of Nederland and Amy Balsamo, who, along with her husband Blake, resides in Port Neches. Rodney also took great pride in being a father to Chris Schroeder and his wife Heather, based in Bridge City. As a grandfather, he found immense joy in the lives of his five grandchildren: Fischer, Rowan, Lynlee, Briggs, and Blakely, whom he adored and cherished.

Rodney was not only a loving family man but also a supportive brother and sibling. He is survived by his siblings, including Ella Broadus, Ricky Broussard and his wife Karen, Ronnie Broussard and his wife Kris, Ray Broussard and his wife Cathy, Donna Rider and her husband Romy, Brenda Blanton and husband Mark, Susie DuBois and her husband Ken, and Bonnie Maxwell and her husband Mark. Each shared in his warmth, camaraderie, and devotion to family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert and Lillie Mae Broussard, and his sister Gloria Broussard, who will always hold a special place in the hearts of those he left behind.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the Port Neches Knights of Columbus Hall. 

Rodney's presence in our lives will be deeply missed. His spirit and the love he shared will continue to shine through the memories he created with his family and friends. As we honor his life, we celebrate the profound impact he made on those around him, ensuring that his legacy will endure in our hearts forever.
