Rodney E. Romero

Rodney E. Romero, 83, of Groves, Texas, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, September 16, 2021.
He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 25, 1938 to Travis Romero and Rena Edmond Romero.

Rodney was a lifelong area resident and a member of Val Verde Baptist Church in Groves.
He and his wife, Donnis, were successful business owners for over 50 years with Donnis's Farmers Market, Romero's Fireworks and Romero's Nursery.
Rodney was also a member of the United States Merchant Marines.
A Memorial Service for family and friends will be 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Val Verde Baptist Church in Groves with Reverend Nick Dignan officiating.
Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Travis Romero, mother, Rena Arnaud, son, Travis Carl Romero, brothers, Ernest Joseph Romero and Larry James Romero and grandson, Rodney Chea Romero.
Rodney is survived by his wife of 64 years Donnis Romero of Groves, Texas, sons, Parrish Romero and wife Mary Ann of Groves, Texas, Mack Romero and wife Mary Lou of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Shad Romero of Groves, Texas, daughter, Troylene Achitson of Groves, Texas, sisters, Uthea Romero of Virginia and Cheryl Robinson of Groves, Texas, brother, Tony Romero and wife Jane of Deweyville, Texas, fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
