Rodrick D. Steele, 89, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at The Oaks Nursing Home in Beaumont, Texas. Rodrick was born July 12, 1923 in Orange, Texas to Rodrick D. Steele, II and Nellie Burch Steele. He was a lifelong Port Arthur resident and was retired from Texaco refinery after 40 plus years of service. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and was named Man of the Year several times. He was also a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Iris M. Steele. Survivors include his children, Rodrick D. Steele, IV and wife Janie of Moore, Ok; Carol Shaw and husband Walter of Vidor, TX; Neil H. Steele of Groves, TX; Ed Steele and wife Susan of Nederland, TX; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur with Reverend D. Stephen McCrate officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rodrick, Carol, Neil, Ed and all the Steele Family. We were neighbors on 6th street in Lakeview.
