Roger Griffin Stewart, 67, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away July 22, 2011 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. He was born August 18, 1943 in Bridge City, Texas to the late Almon and Emma Burleigh Stewart.A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland on Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2011 at the funeral home, Fr. David Placette officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Bridge City, Texas.Roger is survived by his wife, Darlene of Port Arthur 2 daughters, JoAnn Williams and husband Derek of Groves, and Michelle Powell and husband Steve of Groves 4 grandchildren, Branden Powell, Samantha Williams, Kaylee Powell, and Griffin Williams sisters, Lavina Faye Saltzman and husband Joe, Glendolyn Baker and husband Richard, Nelda Bonbuiant, Ada Garitz and husband Bob and brother Dawin Stewart. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, LaFaun Willis.Pallbearers are: Jimmy Willis, Owen Ray Daily, Kenneth Abbott, Ray Lopez, Russell Hebert and Ray Gaspard.
