Ronald Lynn Bailey, 73, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away April 17, 2016. He was born March 6, 1943 in Port Arthur, Texas to the late James Walter Bailey and Margaret Helen Hitt Bailey.

He is survived by sisters, Dorothy Elkins of Port Arthur, TX, Janie Nicotre and husband, Joe of Port Neches, TX, Debbie Fugate and husband, W. H. of Fort Payne, AL, Betty Saunders and husband, James of Spurger, TX, Louise Jones of Port Neches, TX; brothers, Paul Bailey of Nederland, TX, Joe Baily and wife, Doris of Port Arthur, TX, Donald Bailey of Groves, TX and Buddy Bailey and wife, Linda of Groves, TX; numerous nieces and nephews. Including his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his sister, Julia Evans; brothers, Junior Bailey, Tommy Bailey, Johnny Bailey, Jackie Bailey and Robert Bailey.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Cazzy Francis officiating. Interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

I started the first grade with Ronald Lynn in September, 1949. I've known him and most of his brothers and sisters growing up. When someone passes away who you have grown up with, it is the same as loosing a family member. My sincere condolences to all of Ronald Lynn's family. I've never forgotten him and may he be with our Lord at this time. He is in a much better life now in mind, body and spirit.
