Ronald "Ronnie" G. Clark

1949 ∼ 2016

Ronald (Ronnie) Glenn Clark, age 66, departed this life on April 9, 2016, in the company of his

son & family in Austin, Texas.

Ronnie was born on December 12, 1949 in Orange, Texas to Caggie Inez and William Prentis

Clark. He graduated Starks High School in Starks, Louisiana in 1967.

Ronnie leaves behind his son Heath Vaughn Clark and wife Julissa, grandson Julian Vaughn and

granddaughter Ava Isabel, all of Austin, Texas. Additional survivors include a brother William P.

(Bud) Clark and wife Chloe of Port Neches, Texas and sister Frances Ann Clark of Starks,

Louisiana, several nephews and nieces, special caring friend Karen Mitchell of Kountze, Texas,

and an abundance of close friends who will deeply miss his smiling face.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers Prentis Wynn Clark and David Vaughn Clark, and a sister Wilma Lois Clark.

Ronnie lived most of his adult life in Beaumont, Texas, taking early retirement from E. I. DuPont

to further pursue and grow his business; one that would be a love and service to his community

for decades. The things he loved most were God, family, friends, classic cars and serving

others. Ronnie always had time and compassion for those in need; the first one to offer a

helping hand, listening ear and a tender heart full of joy, wisdom and patience. Ronnie Clark

will be sorely missed by many - as his impression on our lives and this world lives on to magnify

the genuine goodness we are capable of carrying on.

A memorial service in Ronnie’s honor will be held this Saturday, April 16 – 10:00 am, at St.

Anthony’s Cathedral Basilica (700 Jefferson St. Beaumont, TX 77701).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the American Heart

Association ~ 755 South 11th Street Suite 212 ~ Beaumont, TX 77701 or St. Anthony’s Cathedral Basilica ~ 700 Jefferson St. ~ Beaumont, TX 77701.

Always a Happy go lucky guy to me, My sons and I would stop by the shop for advice on how to proceed with our project '60 impala. And we would see each other when the scouts would open with a flag ceremony at car shows he would sit and visit with us for a bit. Raised a great and talented son, I am proud to know.

That warm smile always made me feel so comfortable! Seeing Ronnie's picture posted here, that same smile brings tears into my eyes. What a kind man he was! When I was not able to afford car repairs, he kept my car going at a cost I could manage. He gave me advice and helped me choose a new car, never asking for anything in return. We don't forget the people who help us through hard times. In a strange twist of events, he introduced me to my future sweetheart, several years before the two of us were ready to be sweethearts. This was the result of Ronnie going beyond his obligation to do a good deed for each of us. He had brought my car back to me after repairing it and had me stop on my way taking him back to his garage to pick up a friend, whose car he repaired and was ready to return. He had repaired both our cars at the same time! We had both forgotten this chance, casual meeting until a few years later, months after we met, again, and "woke up" to each other. Realizing that we both knew Ronnie and had taken our cars to him for years, our memories were jogged. I always looked for Ronnie when passing his garage, glad when I saw him flash that smile and wave. He will surely be missed, remembered with joy and gratitude for having him along on our journey through life! All of us who knew him will share the feeling of great loss. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers are extended to his family.
