On October 14, 2015, Ronnie Reedy went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born October 16, 1948, in Denton, TX to the late, Artie Reedy and Eunice Daisy Jacobs.
Ronnie was a Veteran, serving in the United States Army as a sharp shooter, during the Vietnam War and was based out of Fort Hood. He retired from 7-Up Bottling Company in 2001. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed playing golf with his brothers and sons. Mostly, he enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren, loving them and supporting them in everything they did. He was a true servant to his family and friends. His smile and wit always brightened the room.
He is survived by his wife, Roxie Reedy of Port Neches; step-father, Calvin B. Mills of Denton; daughter, Rhonda Reedy Holman of Nederland; sons, Shane Reedy and wife, Sonya of Nederland, Douglas Reedy and wife, Dana of Port Arthur; grandsons, Joshua Reedy, Michael Thompson and Casen Reedy; granddaughters, Morgan Reedy, McKenah Fitzgerald, Alaina Reedy and Adison Reedy; brothers, Lee Roy Reedy and wife, Liz, Charles Wayne Reedy and wife, Virginia, Richard Thomas Reedy and wife, Wilma.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Michael Reedy.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, October 16, 2015, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Freedom Christian Fellowship Church in Port Neches with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Ronnie Reedy.
