Ronnie Trahan, age 66, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 8, 1948 in Beaumont to the late Dalton Trahan and Gladys Guidry. He was a native of the area and was the Director of the maintenance and transportation of Nederland Independent School District. Ronnie also founded the Girls Softball League in Nederland, and was also a member of many other organizations.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Trahan; daughter, Misti Johnson and her husband, Jay; sister, JoAnn Hutsell and her husband, Rick; grandsons, Dylan LaFleur and his wife, Katelyn, Willie Fontenot, and Michael Garcia; granddaughters, Kerrigan LaFleur, Shelby Hays, Tori Johnson, and Kristen Patterson; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kynlie, and Gunner; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a host of loving friends and young children that knew him as “Paw-Paw.”
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Monsignor Dan Malain celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A Rosary will be prayed on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
