Nederland, Texas.
Rosa "Marie" Kea, of Nederland, Texas and a cherished soul who graced this world with her presence for 94 years, has taken the hand of her Lord Jesus and peacefully passed away in Groves, Texas. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, Rosa's life was a testament to love, kindness, and warmth.
Rosa will be remembered for the immense love she carried for her family and the way she lived each day for them. Her eyes lit up whenever she was surrounded by her loved ones. Cooking brought her immense pleasure, especially when she could share a meal with those she held dear. Her table was always open, and no one ever left hungry. She found solace in tending to her flower garden, where she nurtured vibrant African Violets that bloomed as beautifully as her spirit.
She is now reunited with her parents, R.J. Brumbelow and Rosa Dixon Downey; her beloved husband of 52 years, Morris "BoBo" Kea; her son, Michael James Kea; daughter, Betty Jean Ward; sister, Mertle Mae; brother, Buddy Downey; and a host of other extended family members.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Shirley Stagg and her husband, Dale of Nederland, Texas and Karol Sanford also of Nederland; brother, Thomas Downey of Lufkin, Texas; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Rosa's memory will live on eternally. Her love will continue to guide them through life's journey.
Rosa Marie Kea's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, family, kindness, and grace. She may have departed this world physically, but the impact of her spirit will forever linger in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. Rest in peace, dear Marie, your memory will forever be a blessing to us all.
