Rose Oleksy Barclay

Rose Oleksy Barclay, 88, of Nederland Texas died Sunday February 6, 2011 at Magnolia Manor in Groves. Rose was born June 22, 1922 in Port Arthur, Texas to Max Oleksy, Sr. and Frances Dudezyk Oleksy. She has lived in Nederland for the past sixty years. Rose was retired with 25 years of service at St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur as a nurse. She will be remembered by her friends and family and caregivers for her spirit and her humor. Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 8, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Scott Miller of the First Christian Church of Port Arthur officiating at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 noon until service time at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Rose was preceded in death by her husband Robert Odell Barclay, Sr., brothers, Eddie and Max Oleksy and two sisters Jackie Anderson and Bertha Keenum. Rose is survived by her daughter Brenda Gotcher and husband Pete of Nederland; son Bob Barclay of Nederland; brother, Emil Oleksy; four granddaughters; one grandson, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone at Magnolia Manor, Odyssey Healthcare and especially Dr. William George and his staff for many years of care.
